Bowls: Mahogany Cauldron

This 7" bowl was turned from what is quite possibly a century old piece of a beam from a factory building that was being demolished. It was obtained from a member of my woodturning club and it's cauldron like shape just seemed to fit the way the wood wished to be shaped. (The fact that it was Halloween at the time may have had some small influence also.)
It's 3/16" thick and has a slightly undercut rim. This was the first bowl I turned in which the shape I saw in my head actually matched the end product perfectly. It was also the thinnest I'd ever turned a bowl of this size and managed a uniform thickness from rim to bottom. I'm not parting with this one. :)
